Opinions & Orders – February 7, 2025

Late yesterday, the Federal Circuit released a nonprecedential order dismissing a case. This morning, the court released three precedential opinions, four nonprecedential opinions, one nonprecedential order, and two Rule 36 summary affirmances. Of the precedential opinions, one comes in a veterans case and two come in patent cases. The nonprecedential opinions all come in cases on appeal from the Merit Systems Protection Board. Opinions & Orders – January 14, 2025

This morning the Federal Circuit released one precedential opinion, three nonprecedential opinions, eight nonprecedential orders, and one Rule 36 summary affirmance. The precedential opinion comes in a patent case appealed from the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. The nonprecedential opinions come in two patent cases and one pro se case. Of the nonprecedential orders, one grants a motion for summary judgment; three transfer cases; and four dismiss appeals. Recent Supreme Court Activity

Here is an update on recent activity at the Supreme Court in cases decided by the Federal Circuit. With respect to granted cases, yesterday the Supreme Court issued an opinion in Harrow v. Department of Defense, one of the two cases decided by the Federal Circuit that it is reviewing this term. With respect to petitions, the Supreme Court granted a petition in a veterans case, Bufkin v. McDonough. In addition, five new petitions were filed, four new briefs in opposition to petitions were filed, four new waivers of the right to respond were filed, and one reply brief was filed.
