Here is an update on recent activity at the Supreme Court in cases decided by the Federal Circuit. Since our last update, we posted a recap of the oral argument in President Trump’s case pending at the Court. As for pending petitions, new petitions were filed in a patent case, a case originating at the Merit Systems Protection Board, and a pro se case; a reply brief was filed in support of a petition in a takings case; an amicus brief was filed in a trademark case; and the Court denied four petitions raising questions in two patent cases and two pro se cases. Recent Supreme Court Activity
Here is an update on recent Supreme Court activity in cases decided by the Federal Circuit. The only case pending at the Supreme Court decided by the Federal Circuit is Trump v. V.O.S. Selections, Inc. Since our last update, thirty two amicus briefs have been filed in this case. The case is set to be argued on Wednesday. Regarding pending petitions, one new petition has been filed in a patent case, and three waivers of the right to respond to petitions were filed. Here are the details.
Opinions & Orders – May 8, 2025
Today the Federal Circuit released four nonprecedential opinions and two nonprecedential orders. All four opinions come in pro se cases, one appealed from the Patent Trial and Appeal Board and three from the Merit Systems Protection Board. Both of the nonprecedential orders dismiss appeals.
