Opinions & Orders – May 14, 2025

Today, the Federal Circuit released three nonprecedential opinions in two veterans cases and a case appealed from the Merit Systems Protection Board. In the first veterans case, the court affirmed a dismissal. In the second veterans case, the court affirmed in part and dismissed in part a decision denying an earlier effective date for a service-connected condition. In the case appealed form the Merit Systems Protection Board, the court affirmed the dismissal of an appeal for lack of jurisdiction. Here are the introductions to the opinions.

Opinions & Orders – August 3, 2023

This morning, the Federal Circuit released four opinions: a precedential opinion in a trade case addressing lack of jurisdiction, a precedential opinion in a veterans case addressing the Equal Access to Justice Act, another precedential opinion in a veterans case involving a dispute related to a transfer out of the Active Reserve Program and into the Individual Ready Reserve, and a precedential opinion in a veterans case addressing service connection for an acquired psychiatric disorder. Late yesterday and this morning, the court also released three nonprecedential orders, two dismissing appeals and one erratum. This morning the Federal Circuit released two precedential opinions. The first opinion comes in a veterans case and addresses the prejudicial error analysis conducted by the Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims. The second opinion comes in an international trade case and addresses a tariff classification. Finally, the court late in the day yesterday released two nonprecedential orders dismissing cases.
