This morning the Federal Circuit released a precedential opinion in a trademark case and seven nonprecedential orders. One of the orders remands a case, and the others are all dismissals. Here are the introductions to the opinion and remand order and links to the dismissals.

CeramTec GmbH v. Coorstek Bioceramics LLC (Precedential)

CeramTec GmbH (“CeramTec”) appeals from a decision of the United States Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (“the Board”) cancelling its trademarks which claim protection for the pink color of ceramic hip components. Coorstek Bioceramics LLC f/k/a C5 Medical Werks, LLC v. CeramTec GmbH, Nos. 92058781 & 92058796, 2022 WL 17547263 (T.T.A.B. Dec. 6, 2022) (“Decision”). For the reasons discussed below, we affirm.

Dasso International, Inc. v. Moso North America, Inc. (Nonprecedential Order)

The parties jointly move pursuant to Federal Rules of Appellate Procedure 42(b)(2) and (3) to dismiss these appeals pursuant to a settlement agreement and to remand to the district court “for the purpose of disbursing funds held in escrow” and to instruct the district court “to retain jurisdiction to enforce its permanent injunction until the expiration thereof.” ECF No. 52 at 1.
