This week is Court Week at the Federal Circuit. The court will convene 12 panels to consider 71 cases. Of the 71 cases, the court will hear oral argument in 46. The Federal Circuit provides access to live audio of these arguments via the Federal Circuit’s YouTube channel. This month, three cases scheduled for oral argument attracted amicus briefs. Here’s what you need to know about these three cases.

Mid Continent Steel & Wire, Inc. v. United States

As explained in our argument preview, in this trade case, PT Enterprise asks the Federal Circuit to determine whether the Department of Commerce’s differential pricing methodology is supported by substantial evidence.

Ned H. Marshak will argue for for PT Enterprise.

Adam H. Gordon will argue for Mid Continent Steel & Wire, Inc.

Oral argument is scheduled to be heard on Monday, December 1 at 10:00 am in Courtroom 201.

Constellation Designs, LLC v. LG Electronics Inc.

As explained in our argument preview, in this patent case, LG Electronics Inc., LG Electronics U.S.A., Inc., and LG Electronics Alabama, Inc. appeal a district court’s grant of summary judgment of eligibility and its order denying judgment as a matter of law of noninfringement and no damages.

Andrew Schwentker will argue for LG Electronics Inc., LG Electronics U.S.A., Inc., and LG Electronics Alabama, Inc.

Jeffrey B. Wall will argue for Constellation Design.

Oral argument is scheduled to be heard on Thursday, December 4, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. in Courtroom 201.

Hamill v. Collins

As explained in our argument preview, in this veterans case, Hamill appeals a dismissal by the Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims of a denial of his mandamus petition. He urged that court to order the Department of Veterans Affairs to issue an appealable decision readjudicating the character of his discharge, and to certify a class of veterans who received other than honorable discharges and then applied for benefits but received decisions that adjudicated only healthcare eligibility, not including readjudication of the character of their discharges.
